Hiconic winning again and Royal Ascot 2023!

Updated: Jun 27, 2023

What a last week it has been, the spectacle that was Royal Ascot and also a syndicate winner for us!

Hiconic after winning again, this time at Worcester!
Hiconic in the Winners Enclosure!

Royal Ascot never fails to deliver when it comes to putting on a show and this year was certainly no different. We had all the glamour of the the Royals on show, with the King winning a race at his first Royal Ascot as King.

We had some huge priced winner going in over the week and the form for a lot of us, just never stood up at all. With horses winning that most people weren't expecting to win, draw bias played a big part in most of the races this year but that is what makes Royal Ascot such an exciting place for the Royal meeting.

However the biggest highlight of the week for me personally was on Wednesday at Worcester, where we witnessed Hiconic battle off all comers to win again for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. After such a tough time for her over the last couple of years, it was brilliant to see that she still loves her racing!

We had such a brilliant day, with some of her shareholders there with her enjoying the day out. From the pictures we've got, everyone seem to have a brilliant day!

Onto what we have to look forward to over the next 7 days!

Solo Saxophone will head to Worcester on Wednesday 28th June. Solo is a course and distance winner at Worcester, so we know he likes it around here and we would be very hopeful that he will run well after having a really good pipe opener on the flat recently.

We have entries for Gone In Sixty for Uttoxeter on Sunday 2nd July & Southwell on Monday 3rd July. Gone In Sixty really does deserve to get his head in front, after going close in plenty of races in his short career so far, it would be really special to see him in that winners enclosure. We will decide what race is best for him when it comes to declarations day and hopefully we will get him in the best race to give him the best opportunity to break his maiden.
