Our Broodmare & Foals

Golden Equinox Racing not only offers its members great days following our horses at the races, our members can follow the journey of our horses from when they are born at the stud to their life as a racehorse.

Our members can follow our 2 broodmares Samstar and Dandilion throughout their life after racing, experiencing the process of selecting the stallions, then throughout their pregnancy and to then hopefully giving birth to the clubs future winners.

We already have 5 horses that we have had since they were born to our mares. They are at different stages in their careers at the moment and you can follow their journey from birth to racecourse.

The aim for the future for our breeding program is to have our own stallion so we can fulfil our dream of having a full homebred horse run in our racing colours.

Dandilion

Stabled with a John Jenkins

Dandilion was a mare that raced for our clubs. She joined our breeding program in 2020 once she finished her racing career for us. Dandilion was a really exciting sprinter and gave our owners some of the best days racing they've ever had.

Rich History - Samstar

Her sire Rich History is by one of the top stallions Dubawi by a blue hen mare in the making Danehill mare Polished Gem. His dam has had 10 foals which have all won races. Her Dam Samstar is by Nathaniel by a Choisir mare Gossamer Seed. This filly has been born into a family of group winners on both sides of her pedigree. On her sires side she’s related to Ascot Gold Cup winner Kyprios, Irish St Ledger winner Search For A Song, Prince of Wales Stakes winner Free Eagle and Chester Cup winner Falcon Eight. Her Dam is by Nathaniel who is by Galileo. She’s also related to group horses on this side of her pedigree, these include multiple group 1 winner Enable, Derby winner Desert Crown, Goodwood Cup and Ebor Handicap winner Quickthorn and Nassau Stakes winner Lady Bowthorpe. This filly is bred to be a very nice racehorse, she’s got a pedigree that all owners would love in their string and she is an exciting prospect for the future.

Our Rich History foal.
Eqtidaar - Dandilion
Colt Foal

Stabled with a John Jenkins

His sire Eqtidaar was thought to be one of the most promising young stallions to go to stud, unfortunately he passed away in 2023. He was by Invincible Spirit who has proved to be a very successful stallion with prodgeny winning of over £31m. His dam Madaany is by acclamation. He comes from a very successful family and through his sire he’s related to Irish 2000 Guineas winner, St James Palace Stakes and Sussex Stakes winner Kingman, Fleeting Spirit, Shalaa and Mayson. His dam Dandilion is by Dandy Man. She has top class Stallion Danehill in her pedigree through her sires line. This makes this colt related to some very high class horses including Dylan Thomas, Rock Of Gibraltar, George Washington, Holy Roman Emperor. She’s also related to Derby winner North Light and Frankel’s dam Kind. So on both sides of his pedigree there is plenty of group winners and plenty to look forward too with this well bred colt.
