Horses In Training

Solo Saxophone

5yo Gelding

Trained by Ben Haslam

View Pedigree

Solo Saxophone is a 5 year old gelding out of the unbeaten freak that was Frankel, who currently stands at €175k. Nothing really needs to be said about Frankel, the highest rated flat horse ever! Aswell as having the mighty Frankel in the bloodline, the dam was a very nice horse in her own right. Society Hostess was a four time winner, rated 102 on the flat over 7f-1m. Solo Saxophone is currently rated 74 on the flat and 132 over hurdles. He is a 4 time winner, ran nicely in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 3) at Cheltenham in March 2018 at a good price, and was notably third at a big handicap at Aintree in May this year.

Artois

3yo Gelding

Trained by Alexandra Dunn

View Pedigree

Artois was bought from the Horses In Training sales in August relatively cheaply compared to what a lot of the other nice horses sold for on the day. As soon as Alexandra Dunn got him home she knew he was an extremely nice horse. Artois is by Mizzem Mast and out of Intercontinental. Mizzem Mast is a prolific sire and multi winner in the US. The Dam was a serial winner and won over £1m in prize money and produced multiple winners. He is a real top class Dual Purpose prospect. Artois is highly rated on the flat and schooled really well over hurdles, so a dual purpose career is certainly on the cards for this exciting young horse.

Dandilion

6yo Mare

Trained by Alex Hales

View Pedigree

Dandilion’s pedigree is full of speed, sired by Dandy Man who won the group 3 Saint James Palace House Stakes at Newmarket. She’s a 4 time winner, winning 3 times as a 3yo and is a winner as a 6yo. Having placed 9 times from her 30 starts, it just goes to show how consistent a sprinter she is. She is the perfect club/syndicate horse and a firm favourite with our members because of her exciting running style. As she is always closing quickly from the back of the pack.

Dynali

3yo Gelding

Trained by Ian Williams

View Pedigree

Dynali is by Dansili and out of Galileo mare, Lunar Phase. Dansili needs no introduction, being the sire of the likes of Harbinger, Bated Breath and The Fugue. Lunar Phase is a new mare, and has produced just one runner so far. However, this runner is the mighty dual purpose horse Stratum, to which Dynali is a full brother! He has the page and attitude to be a very special Dual Purpose horse and take us to some of the best meetings across the UK.

De Little Engine

5yo Gelding

Trained by Alexandra Dunn

View Pedigree

De Little Engine is by Power, out of Reveuse de Jour.  The Dam’s Sire was Saddlers Wells. He's won a lot of races already, running well to be placed on multiple times as well. He's a superb horse and is certainly a favourite within the club as he always runs his race.

Inclement Weather

Yearling Filly

Trained by Adrain Nicholls

View Pedigree

She is a real picture of a horse, a superb looking filly! She was highlighted as our preferred lot in the August yearling sales, and we were over the moon to get her. She is by Bated Breath and out of Rapid Recruit. IW’s half brother is the very talented Rapid Russo, who has won a maiden and is a highly rated sprinter. We are very excited by her and there are Group winners through the page on her dam’s side. Her owners may want to get a nice suit tailored.

Delivering Dreams
3yo Gelding

Trained by Alexandra Dunn

Delivering Dreams is by Oasis Dream, and out of Delivery. Oasis Dream has produced 27 Group 1 winners, and 180 Stakes horses, making him one of the most successful. Delivery is a new mare, but was a winner in France, and was second in a Group 2. He has an excellent pedigree and hopefully in time we will see his ability match his pedigree.

Shiroccsmyworld

4yo Filly

Trained by Alex Hales

Shiroccsmyworld is our of Shirocco and by Phyllis Hill. Shirocco is a leading sire of horses such as Brown Panther, Prince Of Arran, Annie Power, Minella Rocco and Rock The Kasbah. In his racing career he has won over £1.3m of prize money.  Shiroccsmyworld’s dam, Phillis Hill, has produced 6 winners, including Duel At Dawn.

Barrier Reef

4yo Gelding

Trained by Tim Vaughan

View Pedigree

Very little needs to be said about Barrier Reef’s sire, Galileo. He is easily one of the most prolific sires, with over 70 Group 1 winners from his stock. His Dam has also produced winners and Barrier Reef is full brother to the very good Botany Bay. We really like Barrier Reef and we are excited to see him on track for us.

Mango Baron

3yo Gelding

Trained by Hugo Merienne

Mango Baron is by German sire Nicaron, and out of Early Lu Hutte. He is half brother to Saint Baron who amassed €50k in prize money in a handful of races before injury. He will hopefully develop in Chantilly to the level of his half sibling. He made his debut in October 2019, running really well on very testing ground.

Straitouttacompton
3yo Gelding

Trained by Ivan Furtado

View Pedigree

Straitouttacompton is closely related to a couple of really nice horse on his dams side. One of those is a 96 rated horse called Waqaas, who’s in training with Charles Hills and owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum. His other sibling is called Rockies Spirit, who has reached a rating of 85.

He is by Compton Place, and out of Red Mischief. ‘Compo’ has shown a lot of promise early on and his form is good viewing. Of the horses that have beaten him, 15 have gone on to win races, and one has ran in a Group 1. We haven’t seen the best of him by a long shot, he has filled out to be a real picture of a horse and in time will go over hurdles for us.

Mountain Ranger

7yo Gelding

Trained by Alex Hales

View Pedigree

Having been brought to our attention by bloodstock agent George Doyle, we where very keen to add Mountain Ranger to our club. He’s still unexposed, having only had 12 starts and already winning one of those. His victory came in a bumper, when beating a horse that was very highly thought of in the Willie Mullins yard as they backed it in to 8/11 on debut and our lad came out on top. Mountain Ranger is by Mountain High and out of Oscareen. His sire is a prolific sire of top NH horses such as Air Horse One and Sykes. Mountain Ranger is a P2P winner and is lightly raced and open to further progress. He is really well handicapped based on his Irish form, and looks a chaser in the making.

Carmela Soprano

Yearling Filly

Trained by John Jenkins

This beautiful filly is by Hellvelyn and out of our very own Caramelita, who has made a great start as a mare. Hellvelyn was a high class sprinter most noted for winning the Coventry Stakes at Ascot. As a sire he has produced some fantastic horses, most notably, Mrs Danvers. She is in training with John Jenkins who is the trainer of Chloellie, and previously, Caramelita and her dam, Apple Of My Eye. He therefore knows the family inside out.

Now We’re Touring

2yo Colt

Trained by Alex Hales

Now We’re Touring is by Kingston Hill and out of Drumcliffe Dancer. Kingston Hill amassed over £1m prize money and is a new sire of an impressive first crop of 2 year olds. Now We’re Touring is the half brother to El Astronaute, a winner of more than 10 races and a very nice horse.

Yeats - Saucy Present

3yo Filly

Trained by Henry De Bromhead

View Pedigree

Our unnamed Yeats filly is a beauty. The sire is a leading National Hunt stallion, producing the likes of Thomas Campbell, Shattered Love and Brave Eagle, as well as dozens of other horses rated over 140. The dam, Saucy Present, was unnraced, but is the half sister of Ordinary World, who went to the Cheltenham festival over the last three years, and was a beaten third to Altior in the 2017 Arkle. The filly qualifies for a €100k Irish bumper and a bumper in the Cheltenham festival is a target down the line. She has the makings to be a really successful horse. She is being broken in and will start full training on 1 January 2020.

Gone In Sixty

2yo Gelding

Trained by Alex Hales

Gone In Sixty is by Sixties Icon, and out of our own mare Gib. Sixties Icon is a prolific sire, and in his racing day was a high class middle distance racer, winning the St Leger in 2006. Gone In Sixty is a beast of a horse and a real picture. He will certainly be a stayer and potentially a dual purpose horse due to his stature. He is a really nice prospect, but most likely a 3 year old.

Apfelstruel

2yo Filly

Trained by Hugo Merienne

Apfelstruel is by Brave Monsonnien and out of A Special Dream. Brave Mansonnien was a very impressive sort, and won at Auteuil as a youngster before sustaining a serious injury and being retired to stud. He is a relatively new sire, but has produced Bravemansgame, who was recently purchased at Cheltenham Tatts sale for €370,000 by John Dance, and went in to training with Paul Nicholls. The dam has a great bloodline which includes Cadoudal and Kapgarde. She will be ready to go early in Spring 2020, most likely over hurdles straight away, as she is very forward.

Guvenor's Choice

4yo Gelding

Trained by Marjorie Fife

View Pedigree

Guvenor’s Choice is by Intikhab, and out of Exempt. Intikhab is a leading sire of horses such as Snow Fairy and Bonnie Charlie. Both the dams racers have won. We purchased Guvenor’s Choice with the plan that he would give us a lot of fun and hopefully a win or two on the all weather, which is what he seems to enjoy and prefer.

Hiconic

2yo Filly

Trained by Alex Hales

Hiconic is a filly by Sixties Icon and out of an Acclamation mare called Hi Note, who was a multiple winner. Hiconic was claimed in July and has had some really positive runs so far. She caught Alex Hales’ eye and she was in demand on the day, so we are lucky to have her. She has a lot of scope for improvement, and could be a real bargain.

Nathaniel – Dreaming of Stella
2yo Colt

Trained by Mick Easterby

The colt is by Nathaniel, a leading sire of the likes of Enable and God Given. The dam was unraced, but there are multiple Group winners in the pedigree, including Champion Hurdle winner Alderbrook. He was a backward 2 year old and a bit of a baby, but has blossomed into a really nice horse. One the trainer describes as one of his best 2 year olds. He will either go straight on the flat, and then the juvenile hurdle route next year, or geared up to start in bumpers early in 2020. He has a beautiful pedigree, and is a cracking longer term prospect.

Alameery
3yo Colt

Trained by Adrian Nicholls

This Kingman colt showed promise in his first start, finishing 3rd on debut for Ed Dunlop. He was purchased by Hamdan Al Maktoum for 160,000 GNS as a yearling, so he was well thought of at that time. We are really looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.
