Kohana Girl

Kohana Girl
2yo Filly
Sioux Nation - Dandilion

Trained by John Jenkins

Kohana Girl is by Sioux Nation who himself was a Group 1 and Royal Ascot winning 2 year old. Sioux Nation was sired by the phenomenal Scat Daddy.

Scat Daddy was responsible for some superstars, including No Nay Never, triple crown winner Justify and sprinting sensations Caravaggio & Lady Aurelia.

Sioux Nation has already got off to a flying start as a stallion, with 7 group winners from his first crop of 2 year olds.

Kohana Girl is out of mare Dandilion, who won for us over 5f and 6f from the ages of 3 to 6 years old.

Dandilion was a very exciting mare, her racing style had you on the edge of your seat every time. She would be held up towards the back of the field and would always be flying towards the finish.

She has taken to motherhood really well and is thriving as a mother. Dandilion currently has another yearling on the floor and she is just about to have her 3rd foal early 2023.

Hiconic jumping the last about to win another race

Hiconic

6yo Mare

Sixties Icon - Hi Note

Trained by Alex Hales

Hiconic is a filly by Sixties Icon and out of an Acclamation mare called Hi Note, who was a multiple winner in her own right.

Hiconic was claimed in August 2019 because she caught Alex Hales’ eye with her run and mainly her pedigree, as her dam has had some nice jumpers. We where very lucky to get her on the day as she was in demand.

Since we purchased Hiconic she has gone on to win 4 races on the spin from just 7 starts over hurdles and she got herself some placed black type as well. In 2020 she was spoken about as the best juvenile hurdler that summer, which was an amazing feeling for a club like ours.

Hiconic suffered a set back in 2021 so we gave her all the time she needed to come back to herself and so far so good, she is now doing 2 canters up the big hill at Alex Hales' yard.

She has started 2023 off with a bang. Having won 2 races back to back and finishing 2nd in her latest race. We are really excited for what is to come throughout the rest of this season.

Gone In Sixty on his way to post before the race.

Gone In Sixty
6yo Gelding
Sixties Icon - Gib

Trained by Alex Hales

Gone In Sixty is by Sixties Icon, and out of our own mare Gib. Sixties Icon is a prolific sire, and in his racing day was a high class middle distance racer, winning the St Leger in 2006. Gone In Sixty is a specimen of a horse and a real picture to look at.

Having made his belated debut on the 18th May 2022, he confirmed to us what we had know all along, that he certainly has ability. He finished 2nd and was only beaten by a well fancied Dan Skelton horse who was race fit from running in point to points.

Mr Phillips in the yard

Mr Phillips

2yo Colt

Yorgunnabelucky - Caramelita

Trained by John Jenkins

Mr Phillips was named after one of our shareholders who unexpectedly passed away in 2022. He was a big supporter of ours for well over 7 years and we felt it was fitting to name our homebred colt in his honour.

Mr Phillips is sired by Yorgunnabelucky who holds the rare distinction among stallions of having been a dual-purpose performer on the racecourse. After three seasons on the flat, which yielded four wins, he moved from Mark Johnston to Alan King, taking in three hurdles races which included a third to Al Ferof and a Grade 2 start. A return to the flat resulted in another win, beating The Queen's Tactician and Listed-winner Tominator in a valuable 1m  6f handicap at Newmarket.

Mr Phillips is out of Caramelita, who won 7 times and placed a further 19 times during her career. So far Caramelita has had 3 foals to of raced, 2 of them trained by John Jenkins and those horses have won 10 races between them.
