What a year so far...
When we began 2020, like a lot of you we had such high hopes for this year. So far it has been a strange year for us all, our normal way of life interrupted by a virus non of us foreseen coming. As a syndicate we spent much of 2019 buying new horses for this season and developing the younger horses we had in the hope we would be able to have a successful season this year. Although its been a very weird time for us all, as a club we have tried our very best to keep everyone up to date with their horses and ensure we post daily content to our clients about all of their horses. This has helped us all keep our spirits up during what has been very tough time for everyone. Before I get into the racing, I hope you and your family have all remained safe and well. We hope to see you all at the races again very soon. In the meantime we will continue to make the best of this pandemic as we can. Now let us get back to the racing! Back in February Straitouttacompton was dropped in trip back to a mile, having placed and ran really well over 1m 4f. This proved to be a master stroke from Ivan Furtado, as 'Compo' has now won 3 races on the bounce, 2 of those at Southwell and 1 of those at Leicester and we are currently looking to place him in a race where he can make that 4 wins on the spin.
Around July 2019 we purchased the first son of Frankel to run and win over hurdles, a lot of you will already know him. He is named Solo Saxophone. We sent him to Ben Haslam, who is a brilliant trainer and it really has worked wonders for the horse. He was a maiden on the flat and Ben has really exploited how well handicapped we knew he was on the flat, bolting up in his last 2 races at Thirsk and one of my local tracks Haydock.
Ivan Furtado has done superbly with Straitouttacompton, improving his rating by 13lbs since the turn of the year. Ben Haslam has also increased Solo Saxophones rating by over 10lbs in 2 runs (his new mark will be announced this coming Tuesday 30th June 2020).
If you want to become part of this amazing journey both Straitouttacompton & Solo Saxophone are taking us on, you still can. Buy shares here.
If the second half of the year is as good as the first, in terms of our horses running well and winning then I'm sure we will all be very happy. Stay safe, stay well and look after each other. I'm sure it won't be long until we will all be with our friends and family again enjoying all our favourite sports.
