Christmas Party Week!

With Christmas only just a month away, a lot of you like myself will be making plans to ensure our children have a magical time. So knowing this is also going to be one of the busiest months we've ever enjoyed as a racing club, really just gets me excited.

On the Saturday of Becher Chase day at Aintree (my local course), we always have our club Christmas party. This year we have booked the restaurant at Wolverhampton and there's over 50 of us making the trip there to get the celebrations started early for Christmas.

On the 3rd of December we will be visiting Wolverhampton races with 2 of our horses. Both Artois and Dandilion will be entered to run that evening. It will be an emotional start to the week, as it will be Dandilion's last race for the club before she retires to become a broodmare for us and hopefully breed us some very fast sprinters in the years to come. The video below is her most memorable win for us, coming from last to first and just getting up in the shadows of the post. Artois is back from a recent run over hurdles and that performance told us he wasn't quite ready to be jumping just yet, so we off a rating of 80 on the flat he will head back to the all weather of Wolves. After winning really nicely at Kempton we are hoping back on the all weather, we will see the Artois he has been showing at home.

Shiroccsmyworld will make her debut on either the 3rd at Lingfield or on the 4th at Ludlow. Our trainer Alex Hales trained Shiroccsmyworld's half brother Duel at Dawn, who was a really nice horse and was rated as high as 141 in his prime. We are really excited by her and hope to see the best out of her once she jumps a hurdle then in time a fence. We then head to Southwell on the 5th with one of our recent purchases, Alameery who is trained by Adrian Nicholls. The Kingman colt was acquired at the recent sales and after showing some form to finish 3rd at Lingfield on debut, he's a horse we like a lot and I'm very excited to see him make his debut for us. We then head to Wolves on the 7th for our Annual Christmas party, where the wine, beer and food will be flowing. We are hoping that Straitouttacompton and De Little Engine will also be racing for us that evening. Last time we where at Wolves for our Christmas party, we all backed a horse called Jersey Cream in the last race of the night at odds of 40/1. Martin Lane went for home 2f out, running into a bit of trouble but once in the clear ran out a huge 3 length winner, the restaurant erupted in sheer delight at what we had just seen. Winners like that don't come along too often, so it's unlikely to happen again this time but this sport is all about dreaming, so that is what I will do. Thanks for reading our latest blog and I hope to see you at the races someday soon.
